QuestionWhy am I getting an "AgUiVaPagePlugins" error when using Astrogator?
Answer
Several users have reported an AgUiVaPagePlugins error with the message "Encountered an improper argument" when trying to change a satellite's propagator to Astrogator. There are two known causes of this error; this article provides their solutions.

Note: These solutions only apply with certainty to STK on Windows. Users working on Mac OS computers have reported that these solutions do not work on those systems. AGI does not support Mac OS.

Cause 1

The resolution of your computer monitor is not compatible with STK when using Astrogator. This is the most common cause of the error on high-resolution laptops.

Solution 1

Open the display settings of your computer and change the screen resolution to 1920x1080. You may have to restart your computer before Astrogator will work properly.

Cause 2

The AgUiVaPagePlugins.dll file has not been properly registered.

Solution 2

  1. Go to the STK install directory (typically, C:\Program Files\AGI\STK 12\bin).
  2. Run AgPluginReg.exe. This will automatically open a command prompt and begin registering all of the DLL files in the folder.
  3. If the command prompt closes automatically after the EXE finishes, then all of the DLL files registered correctly. This could mean that the DLL files were already registered correctly or that they weren't, but now are. Unfortunately, you won't be able to determine what the actual situation was. Restart your computer for any registration changes to take effect.
    1. If the command prompt remains open, scroll to the bottom of the window to see which DLL files did not register correctly. Please contact AGI Technical Support (support@agi.com) with this information.
