This article pertains to STK version 12.2 and older network licenses. If you are using a newer version of STK, please refer to the
Ansys License Settings help documentation.
You can use any of the following methods to identify network license usage using FLEX tools.
1. You can use the STK License Manager to see if there are available seats. From the Manage Licenses tab, once you validate (green check/button) a client-side file (one that points to a network license server), the Count column will show the number of licenses available and the number of licenses in use. In the example below, there is one seat each of STK (1/0) and Aviator (1/0), and none are in use.

2. Another method is to locate and run lmtools.exe. You can find this in the STK License Manager install; the default location is C:\Program Files (x86)\AGI\LicenseManager\bin\lmtools.exe. From the Service/License File tab, select 'Configuration using license File'. Then click Browse and go to your STK client file. From the Server Status tab, click the 'Perform Status Enquiry' button. The output will list the available features and the users of each.

3. lmutil is a command line utility available for both PCs and UNIX/LINUX. Run it with the 'lmstat' option for a list of available features and the users of each. The command to enter is:
lmutil lmstat -c "server info" - S STKD
where "server info" can be the path to the client license file (as shown below) or port@server.

4. Based on the output of lmutil, AGI provides a simple-to-use web interface that is included with the STK License Manager: LicenseUsage.htm. Open this in your favorite Active-X enabled web browser and follow the on-screen prompts. This utility is in the STK License Manager install and also in the STK License Server install.
NOTE: The port needed here is the one that is specified in the SERVER line, not the DAEMON line, in the server license file. This may be different than the port used by your client license file or environment variable. If your server license file does not specify a port, then you do not need to specify one here.

5. Users of FlexNet Publisher (not supplied by AGI) will have access to a client-side web interface that displays usage information. Click Hosts to display usage host data.

NOTE: For information regarding using lmutil and other license diagnostics, please refer to the License Administration Guide.
