QuestionWhat are some beginner Astrogator lessons that you offer?
Answer
Launch yourself to new heights with these Astrogator Lessons.

Astrogator is one of our most popular tools and is utilized across the aerospace industry. With this in mind, we’re providing more lessons than ever before so that everyone can get their hands on the tool and learn its capabilities. Whether you’ve worked with Astrogator before or you’re just starting now, you should take a look at the latest Astrogator Feature-Specific Lessons.

These lessons cover a range of the latest topics:

Hohmann Transfers
• Hohmann Transfer: Learn how to have the most efficient two-burn method between two circular, coplanar orbits.
• Hohmann Transfer using the Targeter: Let Astrogator calculate the Delta-Vs with its targeting capability.
• Fast Transfer Using Targeter: Speed up the Hohmann Transfer by creating a fast transfer.
• Inclination Change Using Targeter: Perform a Hohmann Transfer to increase the radius of the orbit and then do a maneuver to decrease its inclination.

Mission Control Sequence and Orbit Targeting
• Introduction to Autosequences: Get comfortable with Autosequences in this orbital transfer lesson.
• Hohmann Transfer with Script: Improve the effectiveness of the Differential Corrector by providing initial guesses for the two maneuvers.

  Orbit Maintenance
• Maintaining Geo Slot: Perform station-keeping maneuvers to keep your satellite within a well-defined box.

Interplanetary Targeting
• Lunar Mission with B-Plane Targeting: Using a trans-lunar injection, you will start from a parking orbit around the Earth to target a lunar b-plane.
• Mission to Mars: Use the positioning of the planets to find the best launch window, Delta V, C3, and other properties to get to your final destination.
• Mission to Sun-Earth L1: Lagrangian (or Libration) points are gravitationally unique locations in space. In this lesson, you will launch to L1 and really see how unstable it can be!

Low Thrust Maneuver
• Spiral to GEO using an Optimal Finite Maneuver: Transfer a spacecraft from LEO to GEO using a low-thrust model.

Rendezvous and Proximity Operations
• Astrogator LEO Rendezvous and Proximity Operations: Model basic steps of one satellite approaching another. Create a Mission Control Sequence to perform a non-optimal transfer into a Natural Motion Circumnavigation relative orbit.

The completed scenarios are available on request — just ask support@agi.com for additional information.
