How to Create your own Default Object Values in STK
When you create a new object using the Insert Default Object drop-down menu (or by selecting Insert Default in the Insert STK Objects window), you will notice that the default objects are populated with certain properties. Some objects, such as the Facility, have a default location that makes them immediately interactive with your scenario, while other objects, such as the Aircraft, have a less complete set of default properties. Whatever the object type, you can redefine the default properties for it using any instance of the object that you have created.
To define your own default version of an object:
- Create an instance of the object with the properties and values that you want to use as the default.
- Once the object is created, select it in the Object Browser and then open the File menu.
- Click Set as Default <Object Type>, where <Object Type> is the type of object that you have selected in the Object Browser.
This overwrites the existing default properties for that object type with the values in the instance of the object that you selected.
To restore all default objects to their installed values:
In Windows, select Start > All Programs > STK <version number> > Reset Current User Settings.
