QuestionHow do I access the files provided by the Data Update Utility if STK's or ODTK's online operations are blocked on my network?
Answer
If you are running STK or ODTK in a location that is not connected to the internet, you will be unable to get data updates via the Data Update Utility. As an alternative, AGI saves a zipped version of the data for STK and ODTK three times per day, at 4 a.m., 12 p.m., and 8 p.m. UTC, with the latest data. The contents of the DataUpdate.zip and DataUpdateOdtk.zip files are identical to what STK's and ODTK's Data Update Utility downloads online. Follow these steps to obtain and use these zipped folders:
  1. On a computer with internet connection, open https://ftp.agi.com/dist/.
  2. Download the DataUpdate.zip file for STK or the DataUpdateOdtk.zip file for ODTK.
  3. Transfer the file to the client/target computer.
  4. Extract the contents of the zip into the appropriate folder for your installation:
          STK 11 x64:  C:\ProgramData\AGI\STK 11 (x64)
          STK 12:        C:\ProgramData\AGI\STK 12
          ODTK 6:        C:\ProgramData\AGI\ODTK 6
          ODTK 7:        C:\ProgramData\AGI\ODTK 7
    This location is often hidden within File Explorer. To reveal it, go to the View tab and select the Hidden items check box.
  5. Restart STK or ODTK and confirm that the data has been updated by launching the Data Update Utility, which will display the current user version of the file even without internet connectivity.
