How can I record a video of my entire STK application or get a picture-in-picture effect?

STK does not include any native capability to record anything outside the content of a single 2D or 3D Graphics window. To learn how to create a video of a single window in STK, please see the tutorial Level 1 - Beginner Training - Movies and Visual Data Files.

Picture-in-picture or side-by-side effect

For complex effects like picture-in-picture (PIP) or showing two or more STK views side-by-side, you can use the built-in recording capability to create the video clips in STK. Then use your preferred third-party video editing tool to combine the videos together. A multitude of commercial and open source options exist that users have had success with, but AGI does not offer any official recommendation nor compatibility statements regarding these tools.

Full STK application

For recording the full STK application, AGI recommends using your preferred third-party screen capture tool. A multitude of commercial and open source options exist which users have had success with, including Camtasia, SnagIt, Teams, GoToMeeting, Zoom, WebEx, Greenshot, ShareX, OBS Studio, PowerPoint, and many more. AGI does not offer any official recommendation nor compatibility statements regarding these tools.
