This article addresses those using STK 12.2 and earlier or ODTK 7.2 and earlier and getting the following error when starting the STK license service on Windows:
VD is starting, please check vendor daemon's status in debug log
There are two possible causes of this error:
- It may be caused by the service not having write permission to the debug log file. To correct this, ensure that the debug log file (identified in the Config Services tab) has permissions set so that it is writable by the system.
- You need to have vc_redist 2015 installed. Check your Add/Remove programs for Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable (x86). If this is not present, then download and run the attached install (VC 2015 Redist 14.0.24212).
